This is not an exhaustive list by any means, but a guide post of sorts. These are not simply books to read, but authors and thought leaders you should follow. Read their books, search their blogs, follow their work, and learn from their process.
Austin has written two books that I found incredibly useful: "Show Your Work" and "Steal Like an Artist". He blogs fairly often and creates some great content online. His social media feeds are worth following as well. A great resource for the professional creative who must routinely create new ideas.
Todd has two incredible books that you must read: "The Accidental Creative" and "Die Empty". Both are phenomenal reads with practical and clear cut tools for creative professionals. Todd blogs often and produces great content that is worth taking a moment to read. You should follow him on Twitter as well.
This one is a little out of the box when it comes to creatives. Becker isn't a creative author at all actually, but writes on the ideas of minimalism. He has a few books out including, "Simplify: 7 Guiding Principles to Help Declutter Your Home and Life", and also, "inside-Out Simplicity". His blog and books are dedicated to making the ideas of simplicity and minimalism approachable and practical. These ideas have incredible merit for creative professional. Read his blog, follow him on Twitter, and get his books.
