Too often, we hide behind complexity. We complain about it and "fight" against it. When push comes to shove, people really don't want to see it go. Complexity is a security blanket. It's difficult to hold people accountable when things are complex - and we like it that way.
If you really want to make a splash or make a difference - if you want ideas that mean something and go somewhere - you must fiercely battle complexity. You must covet simplicity, clarity, and focus.
